一个人很孤独，他想着如果有只宠物，他的生活也许会更加有趣。于是他去了宠物店，告诉店主他想买一只与众不同的宠物。 经过一番商议，他最后买了一只会说话的百脚虫（一百条腿的小虫子）。它被放在屋里的一个小白匣子里面。 他把匣子带回家，找了个合适的地方放下。他要和他的新宠物一起去教堂来开始他们的生活。所以他问匣子里的百脚虫：“你今天和我一起去教堂好吗？我们将度过一段愉快的时光。” 但是他的新宠物没有任何动静。这使他有些烦躁，不过他还是又等了几分钟。之后他又问百脚虫：“和我一起去教堂接受祝福怎么样?”然而这次他的宠物朋友还是没有任何回答。没办法，他又等了几分钟，在考虑怎么办。 他决定再问百脚虫一遍。这次他直接把脸伸向匣子上方，喊道："嗨！你在里面啊！和我一起去教堂怎么样？你会很喜欢的！” 一个若有若无的声音从匣子里传出来…… “你说第一遍时我就听见了，这就在穿鞋呢。” Patience A single guy decides life would be more fun if he had a pet. So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion, he finally bought a talking centipede (100-legged bug)，which came in a little white box to use for his house. He took the box back home, found a good location for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to church with him. So he asked the centipede in the box, “would you like to go to church with me today? We will have a good time. ” But there was no answer from his new pet. This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked him again, “how about going to church with me and receive blessings?” But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet. So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. He decided to ask him one more time； this time putting his face up against the centipede's house and shouting, “hey, in there! Would you like to go to church with me?” YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS! A little teeny voice came out of the box... “I heard you the first time! I’m putting on my shoes. |
