电脑出了紧急问题,老板只好给鲍勃打电话。 拨通了鲍勃家的电话号码后，一个小孩悄悄地跟他打招呼说：“喂！” 老板觉得跟小孩说话不方便，就问他，“你爸爸在家吗？" “在。”小孩悄悄地说道。 “我可以跟他通话吗？”老板问道。但令他吃惊的是，小孩居然悄悄地说:“不行。’’ 老板想跟大人说话，便问道:“你妈妈在吗?” “在。”电话那头又传来了小声的回答。“那我可以跟她说话吗？” 小孩又悄悄地说：“不行。" 老板觉得大人不会把一个小孩扔在家里,于是便决定留言给照看小孩的人。 "你身边有人吗？”老板又问道。 "有，”小孩悄悄地说，“有个警察。"老板很奇怪，不知道警察为什么会在鲍勃家，便问道: "我可以和警察说话吗？’’ "不行，他很忙。"小孩悄悄说道。“在忙什么？”老板问道。 “跟爸爸妈妈还有消防员说话。”小孩悄悄答道。 老板从电话里听到好像有直升机的声音，这让他更加觉得奇怪，甚至有些担心了，于是问道：“那是什么噪音啊?” "是直升机。”小孩窃窃地回答。 老板这时担心起来，问道:“那边到底发生了什么事?" 小孩老老实实地悄悄答道：“搜寻队的直升机刚刚降落。” 老板又是担心，又是关心，又是疑惑，问道："他们在那儿干吗？” 小孩捂着嘴偷偷地笑，还是悄悄答道："他们在找我呢！" Looking for Me Bob's boss needed to call him about an urgent problem with the computer. He dialed Bob’s home phone number and was greeted with a child's whispered, "Hello?” Feeling put out at the inconvenience of having to talk to a youngster, the boss asked, “Is your daddy home9" "Yes," whispered the Small voice. "May I talk to him?” the man asked. To the surprise of the boss, the small voice whispered, "No." Wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, “Is your mommy there?” "Yes,’ came the whispered answer. "May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered, “No. ” Knowing that it was not likely that a young child would be left home alone，the boss decided he would just leave a message with the person who should be there watching over the child. “Is there any one there besides you?” the boss asked. “Yes," whispered the child, “a policeman." Wondering what a cop would be doing at Bob’s home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?" "No, he’s busy," whispered the child. “Busy doing what?" asked the boss. "Talking to daddy and mommy and the fireman,” came the whispered answer. Growing puzzled and even worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the ear piece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?" "A hello-copper," answered the whispering voice. "What is going on there?” asked the boss, now alarmed. In an awed whispering voice the child answered, "The search team just landed the hello-copper!” Alarmed, concerned and more than just a little frustrated the boss asked, "Why are they there?" Still whispering, the young voice replied along with a muffled giggle, “They’re looking for me!” |
