He became overjoyed with the idea of roller blading! He told all his friends about his idea. All his friends did was laugh at him! Everyone in the town teased him and laughed at him. They would say, “Pumpkins can’t roller blade!” Deep in his heart,he felt that if he could just try,he would succeed. He made up his mind and never gave up! He was so lonely. He felt like he was all alone in the world! He was also a brave pumpkin, however,and he believed in himself. He was determined to roller blade, even though he had no roller blades. He saved his allowance for 5 months. He saved S 30. 00. One day he was walking past the Roller Blade Store and decided to go inside. He looked all around but everything was so expensive! What could he buy,he thought to himself. All the roller blades were so beautiful! He became sad,there were no roller blades for $ 30. 00. He left the store and walked home sad and mad! On his way home,he saw an old man with a pair of old roller blades. There was a sign that read “FOR SALE”. So the pumpkin went up to him and asked, “How much are the roller blades?” The old man said “$20. 00!” The pumpkin got all excited and said, “I’ll take them!” He paid the old man and went home. When he got home he put on the roller blades. He was afraid they might not fit. As soon as he stood up he fell! He tried holding onto the dresser but he fell again! He tried again and again. ONE, TWO, ONE,TWO, ONE STEP AT A TIME! Finally he did it without holding on.. He showed everyone in town. He showed his friends, and for his birthday he got pads and new roller blades! He was so happy, and his friends cheered for him! |
